BibleWorks Installation and Customization Guide
The following information is provided to help you install BibleWorks 9 on a
Windows computer.
- If you are already using BW on one system and moving to a new system or
installing BW on a second system and want the new installation to match the
existing one, read these installation suggestions. (Coming...) NOTE: Your BW
license allows you to install the program on 2 systems as long as they will
not be used concurrently.
- Mac Users: If you are wanting to install BW7 or BW8 on a Mac,
Matt Day has provided a very
helpful guide to make it work in the most effective and economical way.
If you have BW9 and $6,
here is a better way
sponsored by BW.
- The incentive to compose these guides is for the seminary students in my
Greek and Gospels classes. Please note that many of the suggestions I make
in the guides are subjective and are particularly oriented to my intended
audience. Still, my suggestions arise from quite a few years of experience
with BibleWorks. I hope you find them useful.

Setting Up and Customizing BibleWorks
Once BW is installed, there are many options for customization. Again,
the suggestions I make are ones that are the result of my experiences. I am
also trying to 'standardize' the look and feel of BW for my students so that
when I use BW in the classroom, they will be able to follow along on their
own systems.
List of Texts Available for BibleWorks
- It will be helpful to keep either the XLS file or the PDF files handy.
They will help you see how the Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and English versions in
BW are related and provide you with a list of all the 3 or 4 letter codes
for each version.
- XLS file: 1st sheet has texts
organized by type; 2nd sheet is an alphabetical listing
